Adele and the Oscars, a match made in sonic heaven.

The British songstress (who picked up another Grammy on Feb. 10), performed "Skyfall" during the Academy Awards. The theme from the James Bond movie of the same name is a slow, emotional ballad that famously made tough guy Daniel Craig cry.

"I cried," Craig said of the song. "From the opening bars I knew immediately, then the voice kicked in and it was exactly what I'd wanted front the beginning. It just got better and better because it fitted the movie. In fact the more of the movie we made, the more it fitted it."

Adele graced the stage in an elegant, sequined dress with her hair down, with a live orchestra backing her.

Sunday's performance marked the first time the singer performed "Skyfall" live. She has spoken openly about her crippling stagefright in the past and was reportedly receiving advice from singer Robbie Williams in advance of the Oscars.

"Skyfall" was also nominated for Best Original Song at the awards.

The Oscars were hosted by TV funnyman Seth MacFarlane and featured other musical performances, including a bit from "Les Miserables" and a reunion of the cast of "Chicago." Barbra Streisand also performed. Much more is available at our Oscars' news hub.
